Greenware exists in a state of becoming. Greenware is pottery that has been given shape,
but not yet given final form or permanent decoration. It can still be altered,
refined, or even returned to raw clay. In that sense, it is the perfect metaphor
for evolving creativity.
This exhibit celebrates the beauty of ideas while in their raw or developing forms. Bereft
of decoration and yet to be fired, each vessel emphasizes naked form and possibility
rather than certainty.
Like sketches, prototypes, or drafts, these works remind me that imagination has value long
before it produces a final result, whether or not it ever does. Greenware allows me to appreciate
the creative process itself—the act of free and unfettered exploration.
